Welcome to Band!! I am excited to get started this year as the new St. Joseph band director!
Band students rehearse twice a week: once in a private or small-group setting and once in a large concert band practice. Students meet on Mondays.
Band is open to 4th through 8th grades. Fourth Graders are in Beginning Band, and 5th through 8th are in Advanced Band. Instruments played are trombone, trumpet, alto saxophone, clarinet, flute and percussion (drums).
The Band performs at the Christmas Program and at an outdoor concert in mid-May. Grades 5 through 8 participate in a Festival in late February which combines the bands from eight area Catholic elementary schools. The 5th & 6th grade Band is comprised of over 100 students, and a 7th & 8th grade Band has about 70 students. This year’s Festival is at St. Jude in Elyria on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
Band Tuition is $280 per year (2011-2012 school year), which breaks down to $32 per month, and pays the director’s salary – the school does not pay for the band program. Tuition can be paid:
