St. Joseph School

Mentoring is open to any student in grades 4 – 8 who needs extra help in reading, spelling, English, vocabulary, writing, science, math, or social studies. Teachers will be available in their classrooms after school from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. on the days listed below. (Note the cancellation dates at the end of this page.) The students must be picked up promptly at 3:30 or registered to go to Extended Day Care. Parents or teachers, as well as the students themselves, may request attendance in the mentoring program.

Mentoring Program is not a homework lab. Rather, it is meant to be used by students who require additional instruction in a specific subject or subjects. The hour can be divided among two teachers who are mentoring on the same day. It is possible that an occasional conflict may arise. The teachers will make every effort to inform parents if there is a change in the schedule. Please keep the schedule below for future reference.

Please note: Mrs. Manges will still hold Math Study Sessions on scheduled dates, which are usually the day before a test. The Study Sessions may fall on the math mentoring days listed above, necessitating two things going on at the same time in room 7. This will work if everyone works quietly and cooperatively.

CANCELLATION DATES

After-school mentoring for grades 4 – 8 will not take place on the following dates:

Thursday, Dec. 22 (day before Christmas vacation)
Thursday, Jan. 19 (faculty meeting)
Thursday, Feb. 2 (science fair)
