Building 2-D Shapes

We have spent the last few weeks learning about 2-D and 3-D shapes. We have learned many things about these shapes. Today we built 2-D shapes using toothpicks and marshmallows. Each student was given a shape and had to figure out how many sides and vertices the shape had. Once they figured out how many sides and vertices their shape had, they grabbed toothpicks and marshmallows and built the shape. They also learned that the toothpicks would be used for the sides and the marshmallows would be used for the vertices. After we completed building our shapes, we completed our reflection and wrote what shape we had, drew the shape, wrote how many sides and vertices their shape had.
