Dear SJS Families,
As we turn the calendar over to a new year, we are already beginning many preparations for NEXT school year- 2021-2022! The time for registration will soon be upon us and we are looking forward to welcoming back our many SJS families, as well as new students and families that are looking for a Catholic education for their children in grades Preschool through 8th grade. Traditionally this all kicks off during our Catholic Schools' Week Open House on the last Sunday of the month. This year, this is being postponed (like so many other things) due to Covid-19. We are working on creative ways to share the highlights and benefits of an SJS education with the world- in a pandemic friendly way. The time to be creative is upon us and we are up for the challenge!
As we think ahead to next year, I have many dreams- large and small! These dreams include a school that is transitioning back into some form of "normal" and being able to bring back after school activities, group activities, family gatherings, and so much more. I am ready for the SJS family to be back together, and I hope we can do so in the 21/22 school year. I also have dreams for our STEM program- continuing to foster what we have planted and grown, but also adding to it with a new, high-tech STEM area that will allow us to teach basic and advanced coding, 3d printing, and work with tools like poster printers, laser engravers, and more! I also want to continue to transform the hallways of the school to be student-centered and to reflect our faith and STEM values that surround us each day.
I certainly hope you are ready to join me as we look to the future at SJS!
Mrs. Amy Makruski
