Week of September 4, 2018

Although everyone was sad to see summer vacation end, the students really got off to a great start last week! This week we will continue to plug away at reviewing some materials while learning new things along the way.

What to expect…

Friday is flex day! I have lots planned for the kids and I hope that we can get through everything. We already have our first STEM challenge planned (shhhh I’m not allowed to reveal it yet).

We will also be combining an art activity with Math that will help the students in a practical way as they work with expanded form, exponents, and place values.

Also on Friday, the students will be given some time to work on their Maniac Magee projects. If you are not yet familiar with this, please ask to see the assignment sheet from your son or daughter. Whatever they don’t complete of it in school must be completed at home. It is due on Wednesday, September 12.

Wonders—new ELA program

Last week and this week the students have been preparing for how the new reading program works. We will officially be starting our first unit on September 12.

MAP Testing

Starts Monday, September 10. Please make sure that your child is well rested and eats a breakfast on those days.

This weeks specials:
