Recently the 4th grade class worked with their 1st grade buddies to read some Easter books together. They then worked on depicting one of the Holy Week days with Legos. They had so much fun and love being older buddies.
4th grade had an exciting chance to take part in an Underground Railroad immersive experience recently. Students got to interview several people from the Civil War era to determine who was a conductor on the Underground Railroad! The majority of the class guessed correctly!
We started a new unit in Science and tested our smarts in a Generation Genius challenge! Here are the top 3 winners!
Students worked with fresh and dried cranberries in a Thanksgiving sink or float activity. They were placed in regular water and Sprite to see what happened. Of course we tasted the cranberries too!
We learned about failing on our first FLEX day in 4th grade! Students had to work to constantly improve a Bobby Dropper! Students tried to save a falling bobby pin from a crash landing by inventing a device to slow the fall. They worked like inventors, learning from their failure, and learning that failures are part of the invention process!
Hello and welcome back to 4th grade!
I hope you are well rested and enjoyed your summer. I am so excited to be your teacher this year! We learn lots of fun things, complete experiments, and maybe even have a field trip or two.
