For being a pandemic year, this school year sure has flown by! I am so proud of all the 4th grade has accomplished, and the lessons about resiliency and "doing the tough things" that were learned along the way.
Have an amazing summer, and make sure you read a book!
We are deep into our fraction unit in 4th grade. We decided to make some tacos! Students had to simplify their taco ingredients, then get the correct amount from the taco bar to assemble their tacos.
4th grade completed a STEM project to learn more about the 4 presidents we commemorate on President’s Day. After learning about the presidents, students worked in their pods to build a Mount Rushmore that was either really tall or really wide. We had a lot of fun!
After learning about prime & composite numbers, 4th grade put on their thinking caps for this Clue like game to figure out who the culprit was?
When you have your principal as your teacher on flex day-expect big things! To learn more about how primary sources are found and used to learn about prehistoric native Americans in Ohio, the 4th graders created excavation sites using cupcakes, frosting, and candies. Once the site was built using a story that took place over thousands of years, the students took a “core sample” using a straw to see the layers in the earth and observe artifacts left behind.
