We had our very first class pet.....caterpillars! We learned caterpillars change. This big science word we learned is- metamorphosis. We enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow, form a chrysalis, and become beautiful painted lady butterflies. Today it was finally time to release our butterfly friends!
We spent our short 3 day week learning about our senses. We used our sense of smell to smell vinegar, soap, pepper, and cinnamon. Then, we took full advantage of all the snow we have and made snow ice cream! It was delicious! We finished our senses theme with a taste test. We tried sour, salty, and sweet snacks!
Wow, what a busy week in Preschool! We started our week preparing for Groundhogs Day by making a graph. We learned what the word "prediction" means and predicted whether the groundhog would see his shadow or not! Our Groundhog day was complete with a craft.
On Wednesday, we began our "Things We Build" theme. We learned four different building techniques: Stack it, Tall Long, Brick Layer, and Symmetry. We used wood blocks to build using the new techniques. Then, we learned about engineers and blueprints. We created our own blueprint to prepare for our big build day on Friday. On Friday it was time to build! These students did an AMAZING job using their blueprints to make their object!
