American Greetings Field Trip! WOW!

This was by far the coolest & most creative places we’ve been!  We were so lucky to have toured the WORLD HEAD QUARTERS of American Greetings! We got a first hand look at how the audio is recorded in the State of the Art recording studio and how it makes it’s way into the POP-UP cards we buy!  AMAZING!!!!!

Thanks to one of our Parents, Rob Kelly, for taking through this wonderful learning experience!

Upcoming news: I will be taking our 4th grade to a VERY special trip to the American Greetings Studios in Westlake to experience what it’s like to work in a voice over studio. We will see how a online pop-up card is made and how the voice over work is done.  We’ve spent a few weeks playing around with our voices and have done some of our voice over work in the classroom!

This week in music * October 22-26

The Second graders accomplished TWO great things this week…  First they learned how to sing ” Ghost of John” as a two part ROUND.   Second they got to use the BOOMWHACKERS and play it too!!!

Spooky cool class!!

**Every Friday morning we have been singing a song at our schools morning meeting. We practice it in music class during the week and then sing it as a school at the meeting. This has been a really neat experience for them and for me. I have been working with the kids on how to really know what your singing about, what it means to them & how to use songs in a spiritual context. Some of the songs we have sung use themes like FORGIVENESS, TESTIFY TO LOVE, RESPECT & PEACE and this weeks song is called STAND IN THE LIGHT by Jordan Smith. I’m hoping that this one will teach the kids how to embrace what’s AWESOME about them and that even though we are all different we should all respect and love each other for who GOD made us to be!!
